As promised, today was our wine tour with Temecula Cable Car Wine Tours. This was my third time on the tour, and I have enjoyed it every time. My first time on this tour was with Hannah when she met her husband to be, Shane. They met after the tour at Black Market Brewing Company. This tour is magic.
Today’s tour consisted of visiting three wineries: Callaway Vineyards & Winery, Akash Winery & Vineyard, and Lorimar Vineyards and Winery. I have previously visited Callaway and Akash, but Lorimar was a new one to check off my list.
Callaway Vineyards & Winery is Temecula Valley’s founding estate winery boasting breathtaking, panoramic views of rolling vineyards and spectacular sunsets. They offer cellar tours, tasting sessions, and have a restaurant that features farm-to-table dining. Here I sampled the following dry white wines: 2024 SS Sauvignon Blanc (white apricot, white flower, green guava), 2023 SS Pinot Gris (nectarine, cantaloupe, persimmon), and 2019 WR Roussanne (honeysuckle, citrus blossoms, and herbal notes). The first two white wines that I sampled each retailed for $35.00 a bottle and the last white wine that I sampled retailed for $45.00 a bottle. I sampled the following dry red wines: 2021 SS Sangiovese (strawberry, cranberry, red currant, spiced vanilla), 2021 SS Malbec (blackberry, black licorice, plum), 2022 SS Zinfandel (cocoa powder, boysenberry, black pepper), and 2017 WY Syrah (bright cherry, boysenberry, clove). The first three red wines that I sampled each retailed for $45.00 a bottle and the last red wine that I sampled retailed for $65.00 a bottle. Lastly, I sampled a dessert wine, 2018 WR AKA Port (creamy cherry, butterscotch, toasted almonds) which retailed for $72.00 a bottle. All of my wines were delicious, and it was a great first stop!
Akash Winery & Vineyard is a family-run winery and vineyard. This winery has an open-air patio with beautiful views. They offer tasting flights, wine by the glass, bottles of wine, and a seasonal rotation of draft beer from Akash Brewing. They also have rotating food vendors onsite that change based on the day. Here I sampled the following white wines: 2023 Dreamville Pinot Gris (apple, chamomile, and honeysuckle balanced by fine minerality) and 2022 Dreamville Kuhl Dry White (a fragrant, dry white sure to give you a whole new outlook on Riesling). The white wines that I sampled each retailed for $38.00 a bottle. I sampled the following red wines: 2019 Dreamville Blend NO. 75 (power + finesse with wild rose, deep berry fruits, and star anise), 2021 Dreamville Cabernet Franc (finely tuned bright cherry and herbal notes), 2022 Dreamville Cabernet Sauvignon (rich and savory, with black cherry, baking spice, and graphite notes), and 2021 Dreamville Malbec (dark summer berry, forest floor, and hazelnut notes with fine tannins). The red wines that I sampled retailed between $57.00 - $59.00 a bottle. Again, this was another great stop with good wines, and I had a few slices of pizza!
Lorimar Vineyards and Winery is a fusion of handcrafted wines, local art, live music, and gourmet food. The wines are fruit forward and showcase dedication to producing the best product from grape to glass. Here I sampled the following red wines: 2021 Sangiovese (tart raspberry, dried strawberry, violets) and 2020 Meritage (plum, dark cherries, clove). The red wines that I sampled retailed for $52.00 and $58.00 respectively. The wines were good, and the lively atmosphere was refreshing!
After a fun day in the sun with the girls sipping wine and singing on the trolley, we went back to Hannah’s house for a combined evening BBQ with the groomsmen. We all had a fun time getting to know each other and relaxing in the pool/hot tub.
Tomorrow we will continue with our aquatic adventure to pamper the bride. I cannot wait to dive deeper into the next day of Bach weekend with you.
