The Maryland Zoo is a 135-acre park located in historic Druid Hill Park in the northwestern area of the City of Baltimore, Maryland. The Maryland Zoo features different mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. The Maryland Zoo also offers fun for everyone with their Carousel, Jones Falls Zephyr Train Ride, Zoo Experiences, and Wild Things Gift Shop. The different Zoo Experiences that you can participate in for additional costs are Penguin Encounters, Feed a Giraffe, Behind-the-Scenes Tours, Guided Zoo Tours, Goat Grooming, and Talons & Tails Encounter. The Maryland Zoo's current conservation projects include African Penguins, Panamanian Golden Frog, Polar Bear, Great Apes, African Elephant, and Native Maryland Species. The Maryland Zoo's current sustainability projects include Zoo Garden, Composting, Recycling, and Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch. The Zoo has four main food and refreshment services, Whistle Stop Grille & Sidetrack, Bait Shack, Oasis Cafe, and Dippin' Dots, all which a portion of sales directly benefits the Maryland Zoo’s conservation and education programs. The price of admission to the Maryland Zoo is $22 per adult and $18 per child, and the parking is free.

I visited The Maryland Zoo for the first time during my last semester of college with my roommates Jody and Brittani. We went with Brittani's father and brother and we all had a really great time. I am very thankful that I was given the opportunity to experience the zoo! I would recommend The Maryland Zoo to people of all ages! It is a beautiful zoo that is well taken cared for. The staff all seemed to enjoy their jobs and care deeply for the animals. My favorite animals were the elephants and penguins. I would definitely come back to visit the zoo again! It is a perfect way to spend your day with loved ones.
