Well, I wish that I could say that I had a good first night sleep on the ship, but I did not. I was so sick that in the middle of the night I forced myself to throw up multiple times because I had an awful stabbing pain in my stomach. Unfortunately, this did little to alleviate my pain.

At breakfast I had half of a hard-boiled egg, a piece of a pancake, and 3 slices of grapefruit. I was down bad. Fortunately, even when I am down bad, I can still drag myself to activities and put a semi smile on my face. Throughout the morning I distracted myself with an origami class where I made a butterfly, watched a fruit and vegetable carving demonstration, took a 70's line dance class, and collected some charms for the complimentary necklace that the jewelry shop offered. By the time lunch came around I was still hurting but I was able to eat some salad, potato salad, chicken parmesan, roast beef, cantaloupe, watermelon, and ice cream. After lunch my mom, sister, and I continued with our day by going to the Champagne Art Auction. I was back to being down bad because I could only muster a few sips of champagne as my stomach felt like I had taken a beating. This was a weird pain that I have never experienced before, it was high up, not cramps. Due to limited internet and medical care, I just kept being brave.

I made it to dinner still gripping on for dear life and had the creamy New England clam chowder (crispy bacon, clams, potatoes), broiled Boston bluefish (mild white fish, olive oil smashed potatoes, portobello mushrooms, pearl onions, arugula, garlic brown butter), and After Eight mint chocolate mousse (hazelnut crunch, Chantilly cream). My chowder and mousse were good, but I did not eat much of the fish as it was too oily and I feared it would upset my stomach further. My sister had the creamy spinach and artichoke dip (crisp tortilla chips), shrimp pasta alla vodka (vodka tomato cream sauce, shaved parmesan cheese), and warm apple strudel (vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce). My mom had the creamy New England clam chowder, parmesan-crusted pork chop (buttered broccoli, tomato basil ragout), and warm apple strudel. My dad had the creamy New England clam chowder, broiled Boston bluefish, and warm apple strudel.

After dinner I was still in pain, but I made it to the Battle of the Sexes Game Show, the Production Show: Fusion, and to the '70s Disco Dance Party. The Battle of the Sexes Game Show was guys vs. girls in silly challenges. The girls won, obviously. The Production Show: Fusion took the rhythmic world of Latin Ballroom and paired it with the hit songs by Diana Ross, BTS, Robin Thicke, Coldplay, Janelle Monae, Adam Lambert, Britney Spears, Jessie J, Sara Bareilles, Avicii, Ne-Yo, Shakira, Bon Jovi, Pharrell, and Billie Eilish, to feature the footwork of the cha-cha, tango, mambo, paso doble, and more! The '70s Disco Dance Party had my mom, sister, and I grooving poolside to funkylicious tunes and dynamite disco.

One fun filled but painful day later and I was ready to retreat to my room for sleep. I took more medicine, this time including Dramamine. Stay tuned for tomorrow to see if I was on my deathbed or simply seasick. Tomorrow also goes into our first of four ports that you simply will not want to miss, cue stunning beaches, rich culture, and of course, some of the best tequila I have ever tasted.
