Thank the seas for Dramamine as I found out that I was suffering from seasickness. Feeling worlds better, I was ready for our day ashore in beautiful Cozumel, Mexico.

My family and I booked the Hop on Hop off Cozumel & Beach Break excursion through Norwegian. Our 5-hour excursion showed us the highlights of Cozumel by riding in an open-top state-of-the-art bus around the city in a Caribbean guided style. We hopped on and off at attractions while listening to our guide Mario who told us about the fascinating narrative that brought the island alive. We stopped at Benito Juarez Square, named for the national hero and former president of Mexico. We strolled through the streets along our stop and shopped. We visited a replica of Mayan ruins where we enjoyed tortilla, chocolate, and tequila tastings while learning about the early Mayan culture. We enjoyed a view of the Monument of Two Cultures while on route. The monument commemorates a shipwrecked Spanish sailor in the 16th century that chose to live among the Mayas rather than return to his homeland. Lastly, we finished off at one of Cozumel's premier beaches with white sand and refreshing waters.

I enjoyed the tour much more than I thought I would as it was really immersive and well organized. I highly recommend this tour as it has a bit of everything for everyone. I really enjoyed visiting the replica of the Mayan ruins and the beach. I was in the water from the moment we arrived at the beach until we had to leave to return to the port. The tour made it easy to see many parts of the island and feel completely at ease during it. Our tour guide Mario and bus driver Jesus were fantastic! I feel in love with Cozumel as I learned about the culture and swam in the clear waters.

Unfortunately, our time in Cozumel did come to an end and we had to return back to our ship. Once onboard we grabbed a snack from the buffet (I got French fries with pulled pork) and returned to our rooms to freshen up for dinner.

Tonight we tried out the Aqua dining room for dinner. I ordered the white cheddar and potato soup (creme fraiche, chives), almond-crusted Hoki (delicate white fish, buttered green beans, mashed potatoes), a side of bang bang shrimp, and sherbet. My sister ordered the Waldorf salad (granny smith apples, grapes, celery, candied walnuts), almond-crusted Hoki, and brownie s'more (graham cracker, roasted marshmallow cream). My mom ordered the Waldorf salad, herb-crusted rotisserie chicken (mashed potatoes, broccoli), and seasonal fresh fruit plate. My dad ordered the white cheddar and potato soup, grilled New York strip steak (French fries peppercorn sauce), and bananas foster (dark rum sauce, vanilla ice cream). Our food was good, but we preferred dining at the Venetian.

After dinner we saw the comedy show performed by Warren Hall. Warren tours all over and has entertained the US troops stationed internationally five times. He was also on the tv show Comics Unleashed and on XM radio. I enjoyed his performance as he was quite funny.

We ended our night at the Awesome 80's Party where we strike a pose and vogued before heading off to bed. Today was an amazing day and tomorrow we would dock in Harvest Caye, Belize for another day filled with fun and sun.
