The morning was business as usual, breakfast consisted of peanut butter toast, hard boiled eggs, a pancake, peaches, and grapefruit slices. After breakfast my family and I headed to our assigned meeting spot to tender to land for our booked excursion. We booked the excursion Jolly Roger Catamaran Sailing & Snorkeling with lunch with Norwegian. We were met at the pier by our captain and crew who then transferred us by bus. The scenic bus ride was about 30 minutes long. We then boarded a 60 foot, modern, sailing catamaran. We set sail along the scenic coast of Roatan, Honduras in the stunning turquoise Caribbean waters. We were provided with all snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, and life vest). Before we knew it, we arrived at our snorkeling point. We entered the crystal clear, warm water via staircase. We had ample time to swim up close with living coral and tropical reef fish. The snorkeling was beautiful but also terrifying as I have never snorkeled in open ocean, the most I have ever done was in a cove. Aside from being terrified, I had a wonderful time exploring the reefs. The ocean is so amazing. If there is one message to take from my travels it is to get out there an explore the wonders of the world. There is so much natural beauty to see, it will change your life.
After we tired ourselves out snorkeling, it is exhausting, we had lunch on the boat. We had rotisserie chicken, rice, pasta salad, cabbage salad, and watermelon. We were also provided with unlimited rum punch, rum drinks, fruit punch, and soft drinks. After eating we were free to jump off the boat and swim around, which of course I did. We were also given complimentary local currency as a souvenir.
I really enjoyed our excursion and being out in the beautiful water and warm sunshine. Sadly, all good things must come to an end as we had to head back to port. From the port we caught a tender back to our ship. Once onboard our ship we went to our rooms to freshen up for dinner.
At dinner I ordered the ranchero beef mini tostadas (guacamole, Pico de Gallo), potato gnocchi (pesto cream sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts), and black forest cake (dark cherry sauce, chocolate shavings). My sister ordered the ranchero beef mini tostadas, country fried chicken (mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, biscuit, gravy), and raspberry sherbert. My mom ordered the mozzarella and plum tomatoes (basil pesto, crostini), baked walleye cod fillet (mild white fish, spinach mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, lemon-butter sauce), and fig and apple cobbler (vanilla ice cream). My dad ordered the cheese ravioli (lobster cream sauce), baked walleye cod fillet, and black forest cake. We enjoyed our meals and service as usual.
After dinner we went to The Big Fun Game Show and Newlywed Not-So-Newlywed Show. Both events were fun and filled with lots of laughs. We ended our evening after the shows to go to bed as we had our final day ashore come morning. We would be bringing it back to Mexico, however, this time we would be exploring beautiful Costa Maya.
