Cape May, New Jersey
June 2015 & June 2018
If you read my last post, you heard me mention the Cape May Lighthouse. If you did not read my last post, go read it! The Cape May Lighthouse has 199 steps on a spiral staircase. As someone who does not like heights, I can handle this climb but I do get a bit shaky the more I go up. However, the panoramic views are worth the nerves. I feel accomplished being able to climb up and go out on the wrap around viewing area. It can get narrow on the stairs at times especially since the foot traffic goes both up and down. Overall, it is a fun activity for everyone! I have climbed the lighthouse many times and each time it gets more beautiful. Fun Facts:
The Cape May Lighthouse was built in 1859.
The Cape May Lighthouse opened to the public in 1988 and has had over 2.5 million visitors climb the lighthouse ever since!
The Cape May Lighthouse is the third documented lighthouse at the southern tip of New Jersey.
