Hershey, Pennsylvania
May 2019
Hersheypark was founded in 1906 by Milton S. Hershey as a leisure park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company. Today, Hersheypark is a family theme park. It is located about 15 miles east of Harrisburg and 95 miles west of Philadelphia. Hersheypark has thrilling coasters, classic family rides, water park fun, and over 200 animals in the ZooAmerica® North American Wildlife Park. One of the newest additions to Hersheypark is Chocolatetown. Chocolatetown now has their biggest coaster, Candymonium, and their first-ever Starbucks. Coming in 2021, Chocolatetown will have a full-service restaurant, bar & patio, ice cream parlor, and confectionery kitchen.
On my last visit to the Hersheypark, I went with my boyfriend, Ryan. We went in May of 2019 for our three year anniversary. We went on lots of rides, visited ZooAmerica, and ended our sweet day by getting matching Hersheypark shirts. We had a ton of fun spending the day together in the park.
More recently, I went to Hersheypark Stadium to see the Jonas Brothers perform. I think that the Hersheypark Stadium is a great place to go and see concerts, however, the parking lot is a nightmare to get out of. I have seen two concerts at Hersheypark Stadium, the Jonas Brothers (August 2019) and One Direction (July 2013), and both times the parking lot was a mess to get out of after the concert.
Overall, I think that Hersheypark is worthwhile to go and spend a day or two at. I would recommend it to people of all ages and for all year round since the park does special festive events throughout the year. I have been to the park plenty of times and I enjoy the rides. There are rides for everyone in the family to enjoy. I especially enjoy going to see the different animals in ZooAmerica. I look forward to revisiting the park in the future, I am especially looking forward to seeing Chocolatetown. Lastly, I will leave you with a word of caution if you are going to Hersheypark Stadium, I suggest that you park elsewhere or beware that you may hit a few hours worth of traffic on your way out.
